Your role

As a product manager you are responsible for good communication and service to the foreign growers/customers as part of the introduction of new varieties and cultivation and preservation techniques. In this way the link between growers/customers is strengthened and optimum returns are realized. You are the intermediary between Agrico Research, Agrico and the market on behalf of the introduction of new varieties.

Regarding licensing we are looking for a product manager who carries out for a larger part of the time as assistant licensing China, with a commercial and technical role. In addition to the further development of the product management department we can use a product manager with the ability to fulfil the role regarding data management.

Primary activities: China

Licensing with commercial and technical role

  • Responsible for day-to-day communication with Agrico partner in China;
  • Prepare/help execute a plan for variety multiplication/evaluation/introduction to market for the Agrico variety portfolio in China;
  • Identify market demand for future new varieties and secure addition to portfolio. Including getting import permit, deliver new selection as in vitro, secure official trialling to obtain National list & PBR;
  • Support agronomy team in providing agronomy support to partner in all stages of their value chain (for Agrico varieties);
  • Apply license fee calculation to the reported volume, secure correct invoicing of the license fee and transfer of license fee to Agrico in Holland.

Primary activities: general

Product manager with technical and data-management role

  • Contribute to the transfer of reporting and invoicing experience to the development and set-up of software in new ERP environment / dedicated database;
  • Contribute to variety data structure and data analysis to support variety decisions;
  • In due time, take similar responsibility like in China for other license countries (daily contacts, agronomy support, reporting, etc.);
  • Share volume reporting & fee calculation experience with colleagues (PM), for use in other license countries.

Skills and experience

  • Hbo/wo level;
  • Agronomic education;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Chinese and English language, written as well as spoken;
  • Basic knowledge of Dutch language, written as well as spoken is a must. But at least ready for training with the aim of achieving a basic plus level in 6-12 months;
  • Good product knowledge of the potato business/chain in China;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Experience with analysis/BI tool;
  • Ability to maintain different relations/to build a relation network.
